The Willows

NCA were appointed in 2022 to respond to a linear and challenging urban site in Oxford. The site has inherent issues with noise and is located on the edge of a conservation area.

The scheme developed, proposed a long and low building that created a solid ‘lining’ to the site which reflected the prevailing grain with a contemporary and contextual roof form that articulated and broke down its length.

The L-shaped plan creates a sheltered environment for the communal gardens to the rear with south facing balcony spaces. The proposal comprises of 8 apartments of mixed tenure, associated amenities and ancillary provisions for its residents over 2 storeys.
